An invitation to engage in content with guidance from your favorite stars

Overview

An important reoccurring question my team seeks to answer is: how can we lead HBO Max viewers to their next watch? The “Recommended By” and guest curation programs helped to clarify that journey by tapping into the actors, directors, and celebrities our subscribers look to for inspo.

Each curation highlighted a list of the talent’s favorite series and movies available on HBO Max accompanied by a clip where they go deeper into some of their picks. As a working collaboration with Brand, Social, and Originals marketing, each curation was featured on-platform and across social channels.

Results

Over the course of the program, we launched 60+ talent curations completed with push notifications, social content, and email comms. Some of our partnerships included Jenna Ortega, Issa Rae, Steven Soderbergh, Bill Hader. Additionally, we partnered with Adult Swim and DC Comics to feature titles lists from the perspective of characters like Harley Quinn and Bugs Bunny.

We expanded the program to align with priority title campaigns and cultural heritage months including:

  • Black History Month

  • The House of the Dragons premiere

  • The Batman (HBO Max premiere)

  • Asian & Pacific Islander Heritage Month
